The light of nature is not something that gets considered enough today, especially during so-called “Pride Month” where crimes against nature are celebrated and normalised. Yes, the Bible clearly condemns homosexual thoughts and actions (1 Corinthians 6:9-11), those who are slaves to sin, but what about nature itself? Does the creation, made by God, give man enough information that he or she is without excuse in rejecting Him?

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse”

Romans 1:20

Yes, without excuse, but why? The attributes of God are clearly seen or revealed in nature. What is revealed? His goodness, His righteousness, His power and justice all revealed from heaven above (Romans 1:18; Psalm 19:1); for who else but the Almighty God could have made all the beauty we see around us. He is shown His love of order in the creation itself. The creation screams of a multitude of evidences from His all-powerful hand.

When we come to a work of art, it teaches us about the creator of that art. We learn about his skill as we look at a painting or a sculpture. However, we do not have every piece of information from his handwork alone, such as the motivation for creating the work and other things in the mind of the painter or sculptor. These are only revealed if the artist wishes to tell us those things previously hidden from view. God has revealed these things and more in His Word (Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

What does nature reveal to us? It tells us about how there are male and female relationships that are interdependent with one another (1 Corinthians 11:11), how there are two genders and no more, how there is a difference between the sexes that complement each other (Genesis 2:18) and how that their roles are naturally different from one another. These things are revealed in nature, even though we have quoted some scripture verses where this teaching occurs also, but we see much of the light of truth shining through from the creation made by God Himself. It is enough that all are without excuse.

Now, why do people reject this? It is not the fault of the light from creation, but the problem of the hearts of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness”

Romans 1:18

What is happening during the so-called “Pride Month”? It is not just the rejection of the Bible alone, but it is also a rejection of what is revealed about God and men all around us from the creation itself. Society is at open war with the light of nature. It attempts to remove the obvious deductions from that light that there is a God who is revealed (Acts 17:28-29) and that even those without the Bible have the law written in their hearts, as they are created in the image of God, a law and image they actively fight against (Romans 2:14-15).

The parades of this month of sin are against God and all that is revealed by Him. The LGBT movement has little in common within its own movement, be that the Trans movement fighting with elements of the “gay rights” movement, but they are unified in their hatred of the light of nature and the truth that is revealed to them. They actively fight against this God, the God they are so clearly angered by and the God they say does not exist (Psalm 14:1). They will fight Him until this true and living God takes pity on them by giving them new life in Christ (Romans 9:16; John 3:7).

Are you saved? Are we better than these people in bondage to their sin? Are we better than those blind to their own sins? Paul wrote of the Greeks (unbelievers or Gentiles) to the Jews when he said this:

“What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin”

Romans 3:9

They need what we have as believers in Christ. What we have is mercy and something undeserved. We have the mercy of God in Christ. Share the gospel with those who celebrate pride today! Point them to the God revealed in His own creation!
